Medical illustrators draw what can't be seen, watch what's never been done, and tell thousands about it without saying a word. Collaborating with scientists, physicians, and other specialists, medical illustrators transform complex information into visual images that have the potential to communicate to broad audiences. The work of medical illustrators promotes education, research, patient care, public relations, and marketing efforts.

This exhibition brings together the work of over 40 illustrators from across North America. Every piece on display is a past award winner from the annual meeting of the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI), evaluated for a range of merits, including visual problem solving, scientific accuracy and draftsmanship.

The 67th Annual Meeting of the Association of Medical Illustrators, ILLUMINATE: Exploring Ideas in Biomedical Visual Communication, is being held in Toronto, July 25 - 28, 2012 at the Delta Chelsea Hotel. Attendance is limited to registrants. For more information visit http://www.ami.org/meetings/2012
