About our department

The W. P Scott Geriatric Day Hospital opened in 1973 and was one of the first programs of its kind in Canada. We are a time-limited, outpatient program located in H-Wing. Our health care team enhances independence and quality of life for seniors living in the community. 

A dynamic team of health care professionals design an individualized treatment program based on each patient's goals and abilities. Sessions are provided in a friendly and supportive environment where patients are empowered to reach their goals. Regular attendance, usually once or twice a week, allows patients to gain maximum benefit from the program.

Admission to the day hospital requries a referral from a family physician and assessments by a geriatrician and the Geriatric Day Hospital team. To learn more about admission, visit our Referring Physicians section.
