Immediate Breast Reconstruction Program

The Louise Temerty Breast Cancer Centre’s Immediate Breast Reconstruction Program is a national leader in immediate reconstruction, and provides a vital service to assess women with breast cancer if they are eligible for breast reconstruction at the same time as their breast cancer surgery (mastectomy), to help them gain a renewed sense of well-being.

Our expert plastic surgeons use the latest reconstruction techniques, and work closely with our skilled breast cancer surgeons leading up to and on the day of surgery, to conduct mastectomy and reconstruction in one session.

It is important that you monitor your breast implants after surgery. If you have any pain, swelling, new lumps or other changes to the appearance of your breast — no matter how much time has passed since your surgery — please contact the surgeon who placed your implants.
