Treatment options

Surgery

Some patients with testicular cancer may require surgical removal of lymph nodes located in their abdominal region.

This procedure is called a retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy. This may be offered after chemotherapy, although some patients undergo this without undergoing any chemotherapy. Our surgeons offer nerve-sparing techniques to minimize any long-term side effects with surgery (particularly anejeculation).

Radiation

Radiation treatment to the abdominal area may be a highly effective treatment option for patients with a seminoma-type testicular cancer.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy for testicular cancer is highly effective and has high cure rates.
