Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre aims to provide a safe and secure environment for all patients, residents, visitors, staff, physicians, students and volunteers. The purpose of the Code Red policy and procedure is to define the process for all to respond appropriately in case of a fire, fire alarm or smell of smoke.

If fire or smoke is discovered, remember R.A.C.E

Remove

Remove all endangered persons

Alert

Activate the fire alarm pull station
Call 5555

Contain the fire

Close all doors, windows and other openings

Evacuate

Leave the area as directed
