Welcome to the SunnyCare Mobile learning module.

About this course

This module will provide you with an overview of the Sunnycare Mobile service offered by Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. It has been divided into several sections and does not include audio. Since each section builds on the previous, we recommend that you complete each module in succession. The maximum time to complete this course is 15 minutes.

Getting started

To complete the eLearning course you should have the latest version of Flash downloaded to your computer. Please note: because the modules are Flash-based, they will not work on iOS devices such as iPads or iPhones. Please click on the logo below to begin the online learning.

What is SunnyCare Mobile?

SunnyCare Mobile enables access to most test results and reports for all inpatients and all outpatients and is designed specifically for smartphones and tablets. Single patient lookup can be searched by patient MRN or patient's last and/or first name.

SunnyCare Mobile also enables access to patient Triage Vitals and patient bed location from the Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) and to patient bed status from the hospital Bed Management System (BMS).

Who can use SunnyCare Mobile?

SunnyCare Mobile is available for both inpatient and outpatient use. SunnyCare Mobile is available for all authorized EPR users with Sunnybrook-registered smartphones or tablets

What can I do in SunnyCare Mobile?

  • View inpatient lists by:
    • Inpatient Service
    • Inpatient Location
    • Admitting Physician
    • Team (Signout List)
  • View outpatient lists by:
    • Practitioner
    • Outpatient Clinic
    • Odette Cancer Centre (OCC) Clinic
    • OCC Chemo
    • OCC Radiation Therapy
  • Conduct single patient lookup (by MRN)
  • Add and remove patients on your Team (Signout) list
    • SunnyCare Mobile is synchronized with Signout
  • Set your own favourite default list
  • View a quick summary of the most recent common laboratory results from the past 48 hours
  • View all:
    • Haematology and Biochemistry laboratory results
    • Microbiology/Virology results
    • Surgical Pathology/Cytology/Haem-Pathology results
    • Radiology results
    • EKG results
    • Echo results
    • Dictated notes and SunnyCare notes

How do I access SunnyCare Mobile?

  1. Ensure that your device is secured by calling help desk (for more information please see below)
  2. On your phone, open a mobile browser and go to m.sunnycare.ca
  3. For easy access, bookmark this page
  4. Log in using your EPR username and password

How do I secure my device?

  • The device MUST be registered with either MobileIron (iOS, Android) or BES (Blackberry) to ensure patient confidentiality
  • To install MobileIron on your device, click here for iOS devices and click here for Android devices.

Welcome to the SunnyCare application eLearning course.

About this course

This course will provide you with an overview of SunnyCare used at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. SunnyCare is Sunnybrook’s integrated electronic clinical care system of the future.

The Sunnybrook clinical community and Information Services department have been closely collaborating to develop the next-generation clinical workflow solution that will replace the current Electronic Patient Record system.

This course has been divided into several sections, providing a tutorial, built-in demos and practices exercises. Since each section builds on the previous, we recommend that you complete each module in succession.

The maximum time to complete this course is 90 minutes.

The course is made up of the tutorial, application demos, practice exercises and a final quiz.

To complete the eLearning course you should have the latest version of Flash downloaded to your computer. Please note: because the modules are Flash-based, they will not work on iOS devices such as iPads or iPhones. Before you begin the final quiz, ensure that your computer defaults to a printer, giving you the ability to print your certificate upon successful completion.

Upon successful completion

Please print your quiz results and present it to Post Graduate Education Office (Residents) or Undergraduate Medical Education Office (Clinical Clerks).

Welcome to the SunnyCare (view only) application eLearning course. This training is appropriate for external/third party reviewers requesting access for purposes of verifying medical record information in the context of clinical research.

About this course

This course will provide you with an overview of SunnyCare used at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. SunnyCare is Sunnybrook’s integrated electronic clinical care system of the future.

Before you begin the final quiz, ensure that your computer defaults to a printer, giving you the ability to print your certificate upon successful completion.

Note: Users must complete the practice exercises at the end of Module 4 and Module 6 before moving on to the final quiz in order to complete the eLearning module.

Upon successful completion

Please print your quiz results, sign, date and send it to the Clinical Research Coordinator (primary contact for your clinical research study).
