A telephone is located beside most beds for a fee of $4 a day to a maximum of $120. TDD phones to help the hearing impaired are available for loan, free of charge, with a credit card deposit. Call Patient Accounts at 416-480-4156 or go to D117.
Sunnybrook’s main patient inquiry telephone number is 416-480-4246. Other services or departments can be reached from within the hospital by dialing the four-digit extension or from outside by dialing the main switchboard at 416-480-6100 and then dialing the extension when prompted by the auto attendant.
When you’re settled in your room, give your number to relatives and friends so they can call you directly between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Out of consideration for other patients, incoming calls are blocked outside these hours. Urgent after hours calls can be directed to the Patient Care Unit.
To place a local call: Dial “9” and continue to dial.
To place a long distance call: Dial “9” – “0” and then the number.
(These calls can be charged as a collect call, to a calling card, or charged to a third party.)
When You Leave The Hospital
Please remember to settle your telephone bill with patient accounts in D117 upon discharge and let your relatives and friends know when you’re leaving so the next patient doesn’t receive your calls.
