We know that organizing and planning a fundraiser can be a huge undertaking. That is why our team of experienced event staff are here to give you advice.
What Sunnybrook can do to support your fundraiser
- Supply you with tools and templates that will help you with planning (i.e. sample budget, solicitation letters, sponsorship packages, etc.)
- Offer advice on event planning
- Review any planning timeline documents and recommend next steps
- Provide an endorsement letter that validates the authenticity of your event and that indicates that its proceeds are designated for Sunnybrook
- Confirm that a hospital or Foundation staff member will attend and speak, if available
- Promote the event on our online event calendar
- Provide prize(s) and auction item(s) for your event, pending availability
- Issue tax receipts (please review our tax receipt guidelines to determine if the gifts related to your event are eligible)
- Recognize your event in our Report to Donors and Donor Wall
What Sunnybrook Foundation cannot do to support your event
- Fund or reimburse for expenses
- Mail or provide email lists for donors or hospital staff
- Endorse applications for gaming or alcohol licenses (i.e. bingo or raffle)
Rules and regulations for events
- Names and logos relating to Sunnybrook are registered trademarks, please ask the Foundation event team for assistance in obtaining logos and approvals for use
- All funds raised must be received by the Foundation within 60 days of the event, if you do not think you can meet this deadline, please speak with the Foundation event team
- The event organizer (that's you!) must obtain all necessary permits, licenses and insurance
- The Foundation reserves the right to withdraw the use of its name at any time and will not assume any costs or liability that may be involved in doing so
- If the event is cancelled, the event organizer agrees to contact the Foundation at least one day prior to the event
- The Foundation cannot assume legal or financial liability for third party events
- The Foundation is not responsible for any damage or accidents to persons or property
