Custom Foot Orthotics

Introduction

Wearing Instructions for your Custom Foot OrthoticsThe custom foot orthotics you have received were designed and manufactured by a Certified Pedorthist for you individual foot needs. The orthotics affects the interaction between the bones, ligaments and muscles in the lower extremity. Care must be taken when first wearing your new orthotics.

  • It is advised to adjust to them slowly. Try to wear the orthotics for 1 hour the first day.
  • Each day thereafter, add an additional hour or 2 of wearing time (i.e. 2 hours the second day, 3 hours the third day, and so on) until you are comfortably wearing the orthotics for a full day.
  • Some people report mild aches in the lower back, hips, legs or feet as they begin wearing the orthotics. These aches are usually temporary and will disappear with time.
  • If you experience a sharp increase in pain as you wear the orthotics, discontinue wearing the orthotics and contact your Pedorthist.
  • Following these instructions will ensure safe, comfortable and effective orthotic treatment.

The casts of your feet are kept for a period of 1 month. Additional pairs of orthotics may be purchased for a reduced cost within 1 year. If you would like additional pairs of orthotics, please advise us during this time and your casts will be kept.

If you are not satisfied with your orthotics, every attempt will be made to adjust or replace them, according to the need. There is no refund applicable on custom-made foot orthotics.
