Dr. Fisher receives Diamond Jubilee Medal

November 30, 2012

Sunnybrook congratulates Dr. Rory Fisher on being awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. The medal honours the significant contributions and achievements of Canadians who have devoted themselves to the wellbeing of their fellow citizens, community and country.

Dr. Rory Fisher, Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, has contributed a legacy of more than 40 years of dedicated service to Sunnybrook, the University of Toronto and the field of geriatrics. His career achievements have carved the landscape of care for frail seniors in Toronto and Canada that we recognize as geriatric medicine today.

Dr. Fisher's medal presentation was a special part of the Regional Geriatric Program of Toronto's Annual General meeting on November 15, 2012. Dr. Fisher was nominated for this prestigious award by the Canadian Association on Gerontology.
