Mark your calendar and get ready to celebrate Education at Sunnybrook!

Sunnybrook will celebrate teaching and learning at its annual Education Week from Oct. 14 to Oct. 17.

Daily activities will highlight Sunnybrook’s commitment to the ongoing education of staff, students, patients and families. Throughout the week, look for education booths around the hospital to find out more about what is happening in Education at Sunnybrook.

Tuesday, Oct. 14: Student, Resident and Fellow Appreciation Day

Who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch? Sunnybrook students, residents and fellows: Come have lunch, meet other learners and take a break. Worried about taking the time? Talk to your supervisor. Noon - 2 pm, McLaughlin Auditorium

Wednesday, Oct. 15: Teacher Appreciation Day
Send an apple to your favourite teacher - through our e-cards - to say thank you! Pop by a booth between 11 am and 2 pm to receive a token of thanks for your ongoing support of education at Sunnybrook! Last year, more than 1,300 e-cards were sent to teachers, mentors and coaches around the hospital. (Booths in M1, TG, E1, KG, St. John’s and Holland Centre)

Thursday, Oct. 16: Patient and Family Education Day
Come learn about health literacy, how it impacts patients, and how you can make your teaching more effective. Highlights include a keynote speaker, interactive booths and news about a funding opportunity for your team. 11:30 am - 2 pm, McLaughlin Auditorium. More info here. Register education@sunnybrook.ca

Friday, Oct 17:3rd Annual Sunnybrook Education Conference – Technology-Enhanced Learning
A full-day conference focused on technology-enhanced learning, from simulation to virtual reality to online serious games. Designed for Sunnybrook teachersandlearners, the GTA health-care community, and external partners in education, the day will include a broad range of world-class speakers, presentations, posters and interactive workshops.
