New Chief, St. John's Rehab

We are pleased to announce Sunnybrook's Board of Directors approved the appointment of Dr. Larry Robinson as the new Chief, St. John's Rehab Program, beginning July 1, 2014.

Dr. Robinson is a graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine in the United States. Following completion of residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, he obtained Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He also holds subspecialty certification in neuromuscular medicine.

Since September 1989, Dr. Robinson has been on staff at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, where he has been the Director of Electrodiagnostic Services since 1989. He also held the position of Physiatrist-in-Chief between June 1994 and March 2001.

Dr. Robinson has been on faculty at the University of Washington since 1989 where his recent positions have included Professor and Chair, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine from August 2000 to April 2006; Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs from May 2005 to present; and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Graduate Medical Education since July 2009.

Dr. Robinson has written more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, he has written books on the subject of rehabilitation and has contributed to several book chapters.

Dr. Robinson will be a Clinician Investigator in the Department of Medicine, Division of Physiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and will also be joining the Faculty in the University of Toronto, Department of Medicine at the rank of Professor where he will be assuming the position of University Division Director, Physiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
