Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI), the research arm of Sunnybrook Health Sciences, is inventing the future of health care.

At SRI, scientists strive to understand and prevent disease, and to develop technologies and treatments that will enhance and extend life. These aims derive from a single mission: to discover tomorrow's life-saving medical innovations today.

Working across program areas at SRI are 209 scientists, 326 postdoctoral fellows and students, and 264 highly skilled research staff. Together, they are making discoveries in the lab that are transforming patient care.

Our research programs align with the hospital's areas of focus: brain sciences; cancer; heart; musculoskeletal; trauma, emergency and critical care; veterans and community; and women and babies.

Sunnybrook is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, the faculty of medicine of which, with its hospital partners, is the largest research entity in Canada. Our scientists hold academic posts at U of T. Moreover, two faculty of medicine chairs are located here: the department of immunology and that of medical biophysics.

We invite you to browse through our Web pages and see how we are inventing the future of health care.
