The quality, speed and cost of generating and analyzing genomic data is increasingly crucial to researchers as they seek to develop personalized treatments for complex diseases like cancer and heart disease. The genomics core facility at Sunnybrook Research Institute, under the directorship of Dr. Arun Seth, makes cutting-edge genomics research not only possible, but also affordable.

The genomics core facility is a centralized resource equipped with a range of modern instruments that provides high-quality services. We deliver cost-effective access to advanced RNA/DNA technologies, and provide expertise and equipment for all services.

We are continually updating and expanding our services to keep up with advances in technology and its applications. Our facility is open to the SRI community as well as to investigators from external institutions. We offer the following services:

• Gene expression profiling by microarray technology
• Laser capture microdissection (LCM) technology
• Microarray data analysis
• Next-generation DNA sequencing
• Real-time Q-PCR system
• Tumour tissue microarray technology

We also provide opportunities for SRI research fellows and students to gain experience and training. We encourage collaborative opportunities with investigators on research projects and support investigators' grant applications.
