Core facilities

Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI) has an extensive offering of core facilities that serve internal and external users. Here, scientists, postdoctoral fellows, students and other lab members enjoy access to an array of cutting-edge equipment for a multidisciplinary, and often multi-institutional, spectrum of projects.

The Biological Sciences facilities provide services in DNA sequencing and quantification, flow cytometry, histology and microscopy, among others. The current Good Manufacturing Practices Facility offers users a certified and controlled environment to develop cellular therapies for clinical testing, while the Device Development Lab contains specialized machining and prototyping equipment to enable the design, fabrication and testing of medical devices. The Physical Sciences facilities are home to SRI’s suite of imaging systems, which include biomarker imaging, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
