Mind, Body, and Pain: Introduction to Chronic Pain (virtual workshop)

When: Tuesday, July 14, 2020 - Tuesday, August 4, 2020

This online chronic pain workshop is a four-week-long program with two-hour sessions per week. The aim of the workshops is to address the biopsychosocial aspect of chronic pain through education, skills building, and connection to supports.

Sessions are divided into Goals, Body, Mind, and Social

  • Dates: July 14th - August 4th (4 weeks)
  • Day: Every Tuesday
  • Time: 1pm - 3pm
  • Duration: 2 hours (includes 15 mins break and 15 mins Questions and Answers)
  • Location: Virtual/ Online through Zoom – Email link will be sent the day before

Evidenced-based techniques to help manage chronic pain will be introduced such as:

  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Visualization/guided imagery
  • Pleasant activity scheduling
  • Activity-Rest Cycling
  • Meditation and Mindfulness
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Techniques
  • Goal Setting
  • And more…

  • Interprofessional healthcare providers such as social workers, pharmacist, nurses, yoga therapist and dietitians.

  • Information with worksheets, tip sheet, other programs, and resources

This workshop is open to patients of the Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team only.
