Neuropathology at Sunnybrook is a diverse and rich practice supporting the full spectrum of clinical, research and educational initiatives of Sunnybrook's Hurvtiz Brain Sciences Program.  We work in close collaboration with and offer diagnostic support to the CNS site group of the Odette Cancer Centre and are engaged at weekly multidisciplinary CNS tumour conference.  We specialize in the handling and interpretation of neuromuscular biopsies and neurodegenerative autopsies and enjoy partnership with the Cognitive Neurology and ALS teams at Sunnybrook.

Julia KeithBorn in Halifax, Dr Julia Keith obtained her MD from Dalhousie University in 2003.  She undertook her FRCPC in Neuropathology at the University of Western Ontario (completed 2008) and pursued a fellowship in Neuropathology at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia. Dr Keith worked at l'Université de Montréal (CHU Sainte-Justine) before moving to Toronto to become the Director of Neuropathology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in 2010.  Her academic interests include Education and she is an Assistant Professor and Residency Program Director in Neuropathology at the University of Toronto and the coordinator of the National Neuropathology Lecture Series, a Canadian Post-Graduate and Continuing Medical Educational curriculum in Neuropathology. Research interests include neurodegenerative and neuromuscular Neuropathology.
