Sunnybrook again named top employer

October 15, 2010

For the second consecutive year, we have been selected from an extensive list of organizations across the country as one of Canada's top 100 employers.

Now in its 11th year, the annual Top 100 Employers in Canada competition recognizes organizations leading their industries in attracting and retaining employees.

"It's a great honour to be awarded this prestigious designation once again this year," says Dr. Barry McLellan, President and CEO of Sunnybrook. "We've made an organizational commitment to being the healthcare workplace of choice and this award is a good indication that together, we're achieving that goal."

Maternal and parental leave benefits, on-site day care and employee transit subsidies are among the reasons sited by contest organizers, Mediacorp Canada Inc., for naming Sunnybrook one of the best places to work in the country.

"I am very proud of the many Sunnybrook workplace initiatives sited by contest organizers, but this award really speaks to the character and commitment of our staff, physicians and volunteers," says Dr. McLellan. "They show up to work every day to invent the future of healthcare and they are the ones responsible for making Sunnybrook the best place to work in Canada."

This year's winners are announced in a special editorial feature published today in The Globe and Mail.
