Support Analyst - Financial Planning and Analysis - Regular Full Time (221102)

We currently have a Regular Full-time opportunity for a Support Analyst in the Financial Planning and Analysis department at our Bayview campus.

Hours of Work:

Weekdays: Days; 8 hours; As per schedule

Summary of Duties

  • Works in collaboration with Senior Financial Analysts to extract and organize financial data to meet reporting requirements for standard reports and for any ad-hoc report requests.
  • Provide support to Senior Financial Analysts and management team in interpretation and understanding of financial information in order to inform evidence based decision making
  • Analyze, review and evaluate financial and statistical data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and SLT / Board Packages.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis on clinical and non-clinical programs on a monthly / quarterly basis including trend and sensitivity analysis
  • Evaluate hospital financial plan by validating underlying assumptions used as part of annual budget and multi-year planning process.
  • Continual development of financial models and processes to improve business process, budgeting and forecasting, hospital planning, regulatory reporting and month end closing activity in effective way to meet hospital objectives

Qualifications/Skills

  • Require work experience in a similar setting / capacity
  • Completed or working towards a CPA designation.
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet analysis through use of EXCEL is imperative.
  • Hospital experience and knowledge of BI systems like (COGNOS Planning Analytics / PowerBI) would be an asset
  • SAP Accounting experience is preferable
  • Ability to interpret data and analyze financial information to provide recommendations
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude and experience in financial modelling is an asset
  • Ability to problem solve independently & in group situations.
  • Able to organize, plan and prioritize work with time constraints and strict deadlines.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
