We currently have a Temporary Full-time (until approx. October 2022) opportunity for a Pharmacist Technician in the Pharmacy department at our Holland campus.

Hours of Work:

Weekdays: Days; 8hrs; As per schedule

Summary of Duties

We currently have a temporary full-time vacancy for a Pharmacy technician at the Holland Centre Pharmacy. The pharmacy technician duties can be broadly divided into three areas: drug distribution, IV admixture and order entry. Responsibilities include:

  • medication order pick-up, delivery of medication to ADUs, dispensing medication, prepackaging medication
  • computer order entry and performing the necessary functions on computers while meeting pharmacy standards for accuracy and efficiency
  • maintaining accurate and detailed drug records and perform other clerical/administrative duties
  • sterile compounding following best practice standards, utilizing aseptic technique; being able to complete necessary mathematical calculations and translating these calculations to the proper equipment to ensure accurate measurement in the preparation of products
  • Best Possible Medication History-taking in collaboration with pharmacists
  • inventory management, ordering and receiving of drugs and supplies.


  • Current licensure by the Ontario College of Pharmacists, a graduate of a CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education program leading to licensure as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities/deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies
  • Previous hospital experience with IV admixture service preferred
