Registered Practical Nurse - Veteran’s Centre - LGSE - Regular Part-time  (222620)

We currently have a Regular Part-time (0.2 FTE) opportunity for a Registered Practical Nurse in the Veteran’s Centre - LGSE located at our Bayview Campus.

Hours of Work: Alternating Weekends: Days, Evenings; 8 hrs; as per schedule

Summary of Duties

RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a Primary Nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice. The RPN supports the philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration
  • Current BCLS
  • Diploma RPN or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Person Centred Care approach and principles
  • Experience in Long Term Care required
  • Cognitive support experience an asset
  • Excellent assessment skills required
  • Ability to work effectively and therapeutically in a setting with residents with dementia
  • Demonstrated use of effective communication strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer and key boarding skills
