Ultrasound Technologist - Medical Imaging, WBUS - Temporary Full-time  (210933)

We currently have a Temporary Full-time (until approx. July 2022) opportunity for an Ultrasound Technologist in the Medical Imaging, WBUS Department at our Bayview Campus.

Hours of Work:

Weekdays and Weekends: Days, Evenings; 8 hrs; As per schedule

Statutory Holidays and On Call Required

Summary of Duties

  • Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in WBUS department, including evening, weekend and call shifts
  • Performs and troubleshoots required care and maintenance of ultrasound and medical imaging equipment as required to ensure they are performing in an effective manner.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including high risk obstetrical, Nuchal Translucency, Neurosonography and general neonatal ultrasound( including abdomen and vascular examinations)
  • Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
  • Prepare and Maintains adequate written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Collaborates and participate in teaching, research, educational, safety and quality improvement programs.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
  • Registration with CMRITO mandatory
  • ARDMS certification in OBGYN an asset
  • FMF NT certification required
  • FMF cervical assessment certification preferred
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and on call rotation
  • Recent related ultrasound technologist experience required and OB experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to organize and prioritize work.
  • Proven time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making, problem recognition and problem solving skills.
