When Should I Call My Doctor?

After leaving the hostpital:

  • If you have a sudden increase or large amount of vaginal bleeding (changing 1-2 pads per hour).
  • If you have persistent crampy or severe pain
  • If you have vomiting, dizziness or if you feel faint.
  • If you have a temperature of 38°C/100.4°F or higher for more than 6 hours.
  • If you have symptoms of depression, such as anxiety, trouble sleeping, withdrawal from friends and family, and feelings of harming yourself that are severe enough to interfere with your daily routine.

IF, FOR ANY REASON, YOU CANNOT REACH YOUR DOCTOR, GO TO THE LOCAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT.

Make a follow up appointment with your doctor within 6 weeks of delivery.
