Sunnybrook recognized among the best of the best in quality & safety

The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ASC NSQIP) has recognized Sunnybrook for achieving "meritorious outcomes" for surgical patient care in 2016.

Sunnybrook is one of 66 adult hospitals recognized by the ASC NSQIP for 2016. The program measures quality in eight surgical care outcome areas:

  • Mortality
  • Cardiac: cardiac arrest and myocardial infarction
  • Pneumonia
  • Unplanned Intubation
  • Ventilator > 48 hours
  • Renal failure
  • SSI: superficial incisional SSI, deep incisional SSI, and organ/space SSI
  • UTI: urinary tract infection
