New Vice President Human Resources and Organizational Development and Leadership

April 26, 2018

Following a national search, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kristen Winter, as Sunnybrook’s new Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Development and Leadership.

Our search committee was impressed with the high degree of talent who competed for this role and in the end, Kristen stood out as our clear choice. Her enthusiasm, experience, and her inclusive approach to work, fit well with Sunnybrook’s culture and we are looking forward to having her on board.

Kristen may be known to some of you from her current role as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Women’s College Hospital, where she is a member of the Senior Executive Team and a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors and President and CEO. In her role at Women’s College, she also has responsibility for Volunteers, Occupational Health and Safety and Infection Prevention and Control. At Sunnybrook, she will provide leadership for Human Resources, Organizational Development and Leadership, Occupational Health and Safety and Volunteer Resources.

Kristen is an accomplished HR leader who has a strong track record of success. In 2017, she was named as one of Canada’s Top 25 HR Professionals. Prior to her work at Women’s College Hospital, Kristen was in HR at Michael Garron Hospital, where she led the organization to become recognized as a leader in Workplace Mental Health. She established a hospital-wide wellness plan and helped to create a culture of community among the staff, physicians, students, and volunteers.

She has a wealth of public and private experience, having been an integral component to the HR programs at Toronto Hydro, Citibank Canada, and Shopper’s Drug Mart.

She has her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communication from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Post-Grad diploma in Human Resource Management from Seneca College and her Certified Human Resources Executive Designation from the Human Resources Professional Association. She is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion.

Kristen will begin with Sunnybrook officially on July 2, 2018. Please join me in welcoming her to our team.
