Development of a shunt failure model in sheep
We want to develop a hydrocephalus model in sheep in which the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is diverted from the cranial cavity with shunts.
Shunting is one of the most important therapies applied to human hydrocephalus patients and while effective, can induce many problems. We hope to be able to simulate shunt failure in our animal model in order to facilitate the development of new shunt designs.
