Canadian Institutes of Health Research Symposium on Novel Cancer Therapies and Innovations in Treatment Monitoring
Date: November 14 to 15, 2011
Location: Vaughan Estates, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The symposium will focus on quantitative imaging methods within clinical ranges of ultrasound frequencies and optical methods, and how these may be used to quantify many forms of cell death.
Experts will speak about validating ultrasound and
optical imaging methods using correlative analysis of 3-D histopathology and
specialized magnetic resonance tumour-imaging methods as gold standard
references with human tumour samples. The symposium will also focus on incorporating
results from the development and monitoring of new therapies, where ultrasound
as an antivascular agent can enhance chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer.
The ultimate goal of the symposium is to expand the
roles of ultrasound and optical methods clinically, leading to major contributions
to cancer therapy. Please see attached event poster (PDF, 95.4 KB), containing updated information regarding speakers.
To register for the symposium, please print out and fill in the registration form (PDF, 144.5 KB).
Abstracts may be submitted to jennifer.coccagna@sunnybrook.ca no later than Friday, September 9. Please see abstract template and guidelines (Word, 36.5 KB).
