Sunnybrook opens new Education Centre for students

September 10, 2021

Sunnybrook is one of Canada’s premier academic health sciences centres. Each year, Sunnybrook welcomes more than 5,000 medical and health professional students, residents and fellows who become important members of our interprofessional care teams.

This year, Sunnybrook’s new Education Centre, located at E350 (E-wing, third floor, room 350) is available to provide support to all health professional students.

The Education Centre is a centralized resource for registration and onboarding for learners. It is the first stop for students to pick up security and parking passes, as well as reach out for support and guidance throughout their placement.

Among the many facilities and services at Sunnybrook designed to help learners and staff is the Simulation Centre, which allows health professionals to learn and practice care for patients in critical situations in a controlled learning environment.

Sunnybrook's newly renovated library at the Bayview Campus has re-opened to our staff and learners. Libraries at St. John’s Rehab and Holland Centre continue to remain open as virtual libraries.

“Our new Education Centre is a valuable resource to help support the thousands of learners from all over the world who come to Sunnybrook to amplify their medical education,” says Dr. Ari Zaretsky, Vice President, Education at Sunnybrook. “I wish our health professional students, their teachers, supervisors, preceptors, instructors and staff a successful year as we learn together and continue to invent the future of health care.”
