Cyclotron installation marks milestone

June 10, 2013

The installation of Sunnybrook's cyclotron marked a milestone today, as a crane lifted the large machine into place.

A cyclotron is a machine that creates molecules that are used in a positron emission tomography (PET) scan. A PET scan can visualize illnesses like cancer and heart disease, which enables doctors to better diagnose and develop a care path for patients.
