Research Summary:

Dr. Glover's research program spans four main disciplines: clinical research on procedural outcomes and quality of life in patients with arrhythmias; basic science research in cardiac mapping and disease pathogenesis; network meta-analyses and patient registries; and medical device innovation. The overarching goal of his research program is to enhance the understanding of disease mechanisms and use this knowledge to advance technology in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Having published in the top cardiology journals and co-authored two books, A Clinical Approach to Cardiac Arrhythmia and A Complete Clinical Handbook of Cardiac Electrophysiology with Pedro Brugada, Dr. Glover’s expertise continues to be recognized on a national and an international scale. He is leading several multicentre trials while pursuing a master’s in medical education through Johns Hopkins University.

Building on these experiences, Dr. Glover is involved in several decision-making groups, including the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, Canadian Heart Rhythm Society and Cardiac Arrhythmia Network of Canada (CANet). He also acts as a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Cardiology, BMJ and Journal of Electrocardiology.

Dr. Glover is also a pioneer and leader in a Canada-wide movement toward using a fluoroscopy-free approach to cardiac ablations—a technique that is not only beneficial for patients, but also for staff.
