Research Summary:

The focus of Dr. McEwen's research is enhancing long-term participation in activities of living of adults with chronic conditions, with a particular interest in stroke and cancer populations. Specifically, she examines the relationships among cognition, motor control and real-life skills, and how those relationships can best be used to improve participation in activities of living and quality of life of people living with chronic conditions.

Her research includes the development, implementation and evaluation of integrated rehabilitation approaches. Key research outcomes are real-world skills, and retention and transfer of those skills.
