Dr. Axelrod has a subspecialty expertise in the area of upper limb reconstructive surgery and trauma. He has a strong involvement in the Regional Trauma Program and his research activities relate to the management of upper extremity fractures.

Dr. Axelrod completed his orthopaedic training at the University of Toronto.  He is a professor of surgery at U of T and has been on staff since 1990.  He served as head of the division of orthopaedic surgery from 1995 to 2005.
