Research Summary:
Dr. Joyner is a clinician and teacher. He is involved as a principal investigator on a number of clinical trials:
- Atrial fibrillation and congestive heart failure, funded through the Montreal Heart Institute and Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR);
- Aortic stenosis progression observation measuring effect of rosuvastatin, funded through Ottawa Heart Institute and CIHR; and
- Clopidogrel for high atherothrombotic risk and ischemic stabilization management and avoidance, funded through Sanofi-Synthelabo/Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Dr. Joyner's other major research activity is as member of steering committees and chair of events adjudication committees for three large international trials at McMaster University.
