Donations

Over the past years, memorial donations have provided essential support to the Sunnybrook palliative care unit.  Through the generosity of family members and friends, we are supported in our desire to strive for excellence in the care of those experiencing the end-of-life, as well as in our care for their loved ones.

If your experience is a positive one of having received reassurance and comfort offered by our staff and volunteers, you can help make a difference as we continue to commit ourselves to the enhancement of compassionate end of life care for those who will be supported by us in the future.

Families have chosen to express gratitude in many ways. Unfortunately, due to limited space and the volume of requests, we no longer are able to accept paintings / pictures. Our unit welcomes memorial donations in the name of staff to our Palliative Care Unit Fund, rather than individual gifts to staff members. The Unit Fund is used to support the work done on K1E and to enhance patient care. If this is your desire, the following wording may be used to assure the proper designation of these gifts:

"In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of (your family member's name) be directed to "The Palliative Care Unit," in care of The Sunnybrook Foundation, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 3M5. 416-480-4483"
