Physio

After breast cancer surgery it is common to have swelling, stiffness in the shoulder or have trouble moving your arm.. You may also feel tightness in your chest and back because of poor posture following surgery. Addressing these and other physical issues are an important part of your recovery.

A Physiotherapist is available, and can help you during your recovery from breast cancer surgery by:

  • following up with you after breast cancer surgery, before you go home
  • teaching you helpful techniques to manage pain
  • creating a home exercise plan to improve strength
  • connecting you with community exercise programs

Presently, physiotherapy is only available to patients of the Odette Cancer Centre's Louise Temerty Breast Cancer Centre.

If you have Physiotherapy questions, please speak with a member of your care team for a referral.
