Emergency stroke services

A team of specialists provides emergency stroke care 24-hours a day, as part of an acute stroke protocol. They immediately assess suspected stroke patients who come in to the emergency department.

In a time-sensitive health crisis such as a stroke, quick diagnosis and treatment are essential to saving as much of the brain's functions as possible. As one of three specialized regional stroke centres in Toronto, we works closely with Toronto EMS and Toronto Stroke Networks to bring suspected stroke patients directly to a stroke centre, bypassing their local hospital.
