Cardiac Surgery
The Division of Cardiac Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre offers all forms of tertiary and quaternary surgical care, including complex coronary bypass surgery, reoperative surgery, complex aortic and mitral valve reconstruction, complex aortic surgery, and some adult congenital repair.
The Division of Cardiac Surgery is one of very few programs in the country to offer both minimally invasive coronary bypass graft and minimally invasive valvular surgery. The Division was the first in Canada to offer sutureless aortic valve replacement and percutaneous mitral valve repair, and remains the highest volume TAVI and MitraClip Program in the country.
