Resident Training

This period of training is designed to provide the student with a better understanding of the diagnosis and management of endocrine and metabolic disorders. During the Endocrinology rotation at Sunnybrook, students will have clinical duties on the Endocrinology inpatient service and in Endocrinology ambulatory clinics seeing both consultations and follow-ups.

Our general endocrine clinics offer exposure to common endocrine pathology including diabetes, thyroid, reproductive endocrinology and pituitary disease. We also have occasions to attend the diabetes in pregnancy clinic or endocrine oncology clinic if interested. Students have the opportunity of work with our diabetes education team including nurse educators and dieticians.

Endocrine Rounds are held every Thursday morning from 8 to 9 a.m., residents are expected to present at rounds during their rotation. There are focused teaching sessions for trainees scheduled throughout the week in the mornings or over the lunch hour. City-wide Rounds are held every Friday morning from 8 to 9 a.m. and available to access virtually.
