We are looking for people to participate in the FLOW Trial (Fluoxetine to Open the Critical Period Time Window to Improve Motor Recovery after Stroke).

This trial looks at the effects of low-dose Fluoxetine, a commonly used antidepressant, which may help leg recovery when paired with exercise following stroke. You will be randomized to receive either Fluoxetine or placebo.

Participants will:

  • Receive 12-weeks of supervised exercise at Toronto Rehab – Rumsey Centre
  • Complete 3 additional study visits at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are 25 years of age or older
  • Experiences a stroke in the last 2-12 months
  • Have significant leg weakness in at least one leg

Parking and/or travel expenses will be provided.
