How Our Centre Prevents Injuries

Collaboration »

Road safety
Transportation-related injuries account for a large portion of traumatic injuries treated in the Tory Trauma Program each year. These injuries are spread across drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and other users of mobility and micro-mobility devices. The Centre for Injury Prevention works with community agencies and supports Vision Zero and efforts to reduce injury and death on our roadways.

Senior safety
Seniors are disproportionately represented in traumatic injury statistics. We work with community partners to support seniors' safety through BASSIC. We also work to understand primordial factors for seniors fall prevention through our physical literacy work in Play Safe.
