Locally Advanced and Neoadjuvant Breast Cancer Program
The Locally Advanced and Neoadjuvant Breast Cancer Program offers a multi-disciplinary approach to higher risk breast cancers, that may benefit from chemotherapy and targeted treatments prior to surgery.
Our program is comprised of surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and nurses, as well as a dedicated patient nurse navigator who helps to coordinate patient care. We also work closely with our pathologists and radiologists, as well as allied health staff to help coordinate patient psychosocial and survivorship issues.
As part of the program, we offer research protocols for novel imaging and pathology tools to better monitor tumour response to treatment, as well clinical trials for new drugs aimed to improve patient breast cancer outcomes.
Your multidisciplinary team will help develop a personalized treatment plan for you based on your unique tumour characteristics (including tumour size and biology), personal health history, and preferences for therapy. The program is lead by national experts in this realm of breast cancer care.
