Facing a cancer diagnosis can be a challenging time for patients and caregivers. Cancer and its treatment can create many challenges including personal, financial, legal, housing and emotional needs. Social workers are professionally trained counselors who can help you cope with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis, and treatment.
Social Workers can provide you with helpful information, and connect you with community resources to help with:
- Changes in your health
- Money or work concerns
- Family concerns
- Facing difficult life decisions
- Managing daily activities at home
- Finding resources specific for your cancer
- Connecting with community resources and programs
Social Work services are part of your care at the Odette Cancer Centre.
You do not need a referral from your doctor.
