Vascular surgery

Overview

Sunnybrook's Department of Vascular Surgery provide expertise in the evaluation and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the blood vessels. These diseases include life-threatening aneurysms and blockages that slow or stop blood flow to the brain, limbs and all vital organs. If untreated, blood vessel problems can result in serious damage, such as limb-loss, kidney failure or strokes.

We are pioneers in minimally invasive endovascular approaches to management of thoracic and abdominal aortic pathology in addition to traditional surgery and revascularization of the lower extremities.

Using a multidisciplinary approach with wound care specialists, orthopedic surgeons and others, we have been very successful at reducing the incidence of amputation.

Our goal is to support you and your family to successfully manage your diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
