Skull based interdisciplinary program
This multidisciplinary approach is a collaboration amongst the department of otolaryngology – head & neck surgery, the department of neurosurgery, and the department of radiation oncology.
Our clinic evaluates and treats several hundred patients annually with either surgical resection (translabyrinthine, retrosigmoid or middle cranial fossa) or radiation treatment (gamma knife or linear accelerated fractionated radiotherapy).
Conditions we treat include:
- vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma)
- epidermoid
- meningioma
- pituitary tumors
- chordoma
- encephalocele
- meningocele
- superior canal dehiscence syndrome
We have two surgical teams that treat these tumors:
- Dr. Joseph Chen (Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery) &
Dr. Farhad Pirouzmand (Neurosurgery) - Dr. Vincent Lin (Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery)
Patients requiring radiation treatment are assessed by our radiation colleagues in the brain tumour clinic:
