Colposcopy Clinic

We are home to a unique colposcopy unit where patient care, research and education in the prevention, early detection and treatment of cervical and vulvar cancer takes place. The Sunnybrook colposcopy unit is the largest unit of its kind in Ontario by number of patient visits per year.

Colposcopy is a procedure used to examine the vulva, vagina and cervix using an operating microscope. It is performed by gynaecologists with specific training in detecting and managing women’s genital cancers and pre-cancers. It incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment.

We accept referrals for women with abnormal pap smears, positive HPV tests or related genital problems, offering full diagnostic and therapeutic options
