Preconception counselling

We assess the risk and outcomes of future pregnancies for patients who have had previous complications in pregnancy or who have complicated medical conditions. Examples include severe toxemia, intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), preterm labour, placental abruption or pre-existing medical conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, cardiac disease, insulin-dependent diabetes and advanced maternal age.

Our clinic offers counselling to patients about choices for prenatal diagnosis of multiple chromosomal and genetic disorders. We also assess future or current pregnancy complications in patients with a history of genetic disorders.
