The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) program is designed to teach a systematic, concise approach to the care of a trauma patient. ATLS course is developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma

ATLS Hybrid Course at Sunnybrook

Hybrid Course is comprised of 13 online modules designed to replace the interactive discussion component of the traditional ATLS course so that learners may complete it at their own pace. Learners are expected to complete these modules over a six week period (each module is expected to take approximately one hour to complete) and they must be completed one week prior to your course date.

Friday: 8:15 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (in-person skills at Sunnybrook Hospital)

Intended Audience

  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course is designed for doctors and residents who care for injured patients

Course Completion Card

  • ATLS Course Completion Certificate is issued by the American College of Surgeons
  • Successful completion status valid for 4 years from course date

CME Credit

MAINPRO Credits (CFPC)
Eligible for 8 Mainpro-C credits (or 17 Mainpro-M1 credits) per course. A copy of your certification card needs to be submitted. For more details, visit the College of Family Physicians of Canada Mainpro website.

MAINPORT Credits (RCPSC)
Eligible for credit under Section 2 (Self-Learning Activities) “Traineeship”. Enter the number of hours you participated in the course (these will be doubled in your credits). For more details, visit the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Mainport website.
