Today, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre held a ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Peter Cipriano Centre for Seniors Health. The new centre is made possible thanks to generous donor support, including a visionary $10-million lead gift from Peter Cipriano, founder and principal of Gold Park Homes and philanthropist, whose commitment has inspired many others to donate.
In 2004, Dr. Ellen Warner attended a conference that opened her eyes to the unique needs of young women diagnosed with breast cancer. As a result, Dr. Warner created and became the inaugural director of PYNK: Young Women with Breast Cancer (PYNK) at Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre, a first of its kind program in Canada to support the physical, mental, research and educational needs of women under 40 with breast cancer.
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre has unveiled the new Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Legacy Space at the Holland Orthopaedic & Arthritic Centre Library, the first of its kind in a Toronto hospital.
