Media spotlight on brain awareness

Clinicians and researchers of Sunnybrook’s Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program were featured in media coverage during Brain Awareness Week​ (March 14 – 20, 2022).

Dr. Anthony Levitt, Chief of the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program spoke to CTV Toronto about Sunnybrook’s Garry Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre which is currently under construction. Dr. Levitt discussed the multidisciplinary collaboration among experts which will take place when the Centre is built.

In addition, CTV’s coverage included an interview with Dr. Andrew Lim, sleep neurologist, who shared insights into the latest in sleep research in Alzheimer’s and mental health.

Dr. Levitt was also highlighted on CityNews and spoke about general brain health after a recent survey found 66 per cent of Canadians identified as currently having a loved one impacted by a brain disorder.

As well, coverage on Global News featured Dr. Levitt and Dr. Sandra Black, neurologist and director of the Dr. Sandra Black Centre for Brain Resilience & Recovery at Sunnybrook.
