Sunnybrook joins eHealth Ontario as new implementation and adoption partner
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (Sunnybrook) is pleased to announce that it will be eHealth Ontario’s implementation and adoption partner across central Ontario for ConnectingGTA, a central repository and viewer for electronic health records (EHRs). Sunnybrook and eHealth Ontario will also assist sites in understanding and addressing the performance challenges that may impede an end users’ experience.
One of the three ConnectingOntario programs, ConnectingGTA, is wrapping up the early adopter phase and has exceeded the registered user targets. Sunnybrook will work with the ConnectingGTA expansion sites to make the ConnectingOntario viewer available to more clinicians across central Ontario.
The official start date is April 8, 2016. Sunnybrook and eHealth Ontario worked with outgoing service delivery partner UHN to ensure a smooth transition for ConnectingGTA health service providers.
The clinical viewer began full rollout to early adopters in June 2015. As of April 6, 2016 more than 42,000 registered clinicians have access to electronic health records (EHRs), supporting nearly 40 per cent of central Ontario’s patient population.
Moving ahead, ConnectingGTA efforts will focus on increasing adoption, continued performance and solution improvements, and rollout of the remaining expansion sites and transition to a provincial model.
The program will be expanded to 57 additional sites in six LHINs (Greater Toronto Area and North Simcoe Muskoka), representing all sectors in the continuum of care throughout 2016, with provincial integration soon to follow.
